SummerTrans is back!

We are pleased to announce that the next edition of the summer school, SummerTrans IX, will take place in Bolzano/Bozen from 21 to 27 September 2025 under the theme “Human vs machine translation with a focus on legal translation”. The world of language mediation is changing. We all face new challenges but also exciting opportunities. For this reason, SummerTrans IX offers a broad variety of courses on new developments relating to theory and practice in translation, interpreting and terminology. All course teachers have extensive teaching and research experience on current topics and come from different European universities and institutions. Courses are held in English or German.

 

The summer school is designed for professionals in the fields of translation, interpreting or terminology working in public institutions, private organisations or as freelancers. It is equally aimed at students as well as teachers and researchers in these fields. There is also a IATI Young Researcher Award for PhD students.

The ninth edition of SummerTrans is organised by the Institute of Applied Linguistics of Eurac Research and by the Department of Translation Studies at the University of Innsbruck under the auspices of the International Academy for Translation and Interpreting IATI, with the support of various sponsors.

SummerTrans ist wieder da!

 

Mit großer Freude teilen wir Ihnen mit, dass die nächste Ausgabe der Sommerschule, SummerTrans IX, vom 21. bis zum 27. September 2025 in Bozen stattfinden wird. Die Welt der Sprachmittlung ist im Wandel. Wir alle stehen vor neuen Herausforderungen, aber auch vor neuen Chancen. Aus diesem Grund bietet die Summertrans IX ein breites Spektrum an Kursen zu aktuellen Entwicklungen in Theorie und Praxis des Übersetzens, des Dolmetschens und der Terminologie. Alle Kursleitenden besitzen umfangreiche Lehr- und Forschungserfahrung zu aktuellen Themen und kommen von verschiedenen europäischen Universitäten und Institutionen. Die Kurse sind in deutscher oder englischer Sprache.

 

Die SummerTrans IX richtet sich an Fachleute aus den Bereichen Übersetzen, Dolmetschen und Terminologie, die in öffentlichen Einrichtungen, in privaten Organisationen oder freiberuflich tätig sind, sowie an Studierende bzw. Lehr- und Forschungspersonal translationswissenschaftlicher Ausbildungseinrichtungen. Es gibt auch den IATI-Nachwuchspreis für PhD-Studierende.

Die neunte Ausgabe der SummerTrans wird vom Institut für Angewandte Sprachforschung von Eurac Research und dem Institut für Translationswissenschaft der Universität Innsbruck unter der Schirmherrschaft der International Academy for Translation and Interpreting IATI mit Unterstützung verschiedener Sponsoren organisiert.

La SummerTrans è tornata!

 

è con grande piacere che annunciamo la nona edizione della scuola estiva SummerTrans, che si svolgerà a Bolzano dal 21 al 27 settembre 2025. Questa edizione avrà un focus sulla traduzione umana a confronto con la traduzione automatica, prestando particolare attenzione alla traduzione in ambito giuridico. Il panorama della mediazione linguistica sta cambiando e presenta nuove sfide e opportunità. Proprio per questo, la SummerTrans IX offre un’ampia varietà di corsi sui più recenti sviluppi teorici e pratici in traduzione, interpretazione e terminologia. I corsi, in inglese o tedesco, saranno tenuti da docenti con vasta esperienza di insegnamento e ricerca, provenienti perlopiù da diverse università europee e centri di ricerca.

 

La SummerTrans IX si rivolge a professioniste e professionisti nel campo della traduzione, dell’interpretazione e della terminologia che operano nelle istituzioni pubbliche, nelle organizzazioni private o svolgono la libera professione. È pensata anche per chi studia o fa ricerca in questi ambiti. Chi svolge un dottorato può presentare il proprio progetto per lo IATI Young Researcher Award.

Questa edizione della SummerTrans è organizzata dall’Istituto di linguistica applicata di Eurac Research assieme all’Institut für Translationswissenschaft dell’Università di Innsbruck. Si svolge sotto l’egida della International Academy for Translation and Interpreting IATI e con il supporto di diversi sponsor.
